Before the use of bricks, the constructions was mainly built from earth, stones and wood. As we know in the history of 7,000 to 8,000 BC, stones were greatly used as:

Nowadays, stones were also widely used in building construction, decoration, and even jewelry. Stone is quarried from earth and mountains in blocks, sometimes stones are hauled out by hand. Once it is removed, it will be cut into slabs then into tiles. These procedure are done by manpower. Stones are an important construction material ever since the art of construction began. During the ancient period, stones are the only freely available material that can be used to construct a building. In fact, stones is consider as one of the most useful and highly resistance material. There are some of the ancient stones  architecture that still exist nowadays. For instances:

          However nowadays, stones are being used to mixes with water, and cement to produce concrete. Stones and concrete can create a more thicker and solids walls. Architect not only used stones to create a strong building, however, stones are used to create a more good looking wall which are facing wall and more.
