BLOCK

Is there any method to build up walls, sheds, soakaways, ponds ten times faster than conventional methods and it is built with unskilled labour??

The answer is YES!!! It is by using STUMBELBLOC’S unique mould set up, the hollow core blocks can be created on site within 48 hours with basic manual labour and without external power! This is able to reduce the transportation cost, time, production cost, and carbon footprint.

Examples of stumbelbloc mould and produced block.

The interlocking building blocks are made with plastic moulds, which simply filled with a concrete mix and left to dry. A very accurate hollow-core block is created when you remove the mould.

The unique interlocking shape allows building with great ease and, in conjunction with the glue for example, thin bed mortar and render, a very strong, fast and cheap construction method is created.

Mix ratio – concrete blocks

  •          1 x 50kg Cement
  •          2 x Wheelbarrows of 13mm Concrete Stones
  •          3 x Wheelbarrows of Rough Sand
  •          Add enough water to make a slop mix ±40 litres

Hand Mix

Add sand and cement and mix well, add stone to dry mix and then throw in water as needed to crete a slop mixture same as a foundation mix.

Machine Mix

Add stone and water to mixer, add cement, mix a while and then add sand then a little more water as necessary to achieve slop mix.

A 16 x 2m wall can be built from foundations within 40 minutes.

For block strength, the SABS requirement is 3.5MPa. The standard block has been tested at 4.8MPa.

Materials can be varied in accordance with local requirements and the strength required.

    Applications
    • Single storey houses
    • Farm ponds
    • Sheds
    • Soakaways
    • French drains
    • Septic tanks
    • Shuttering of concrete columns
    • Walls

      1. yes, it is cheaper compare to the others. because much less material is used than in conventional building and the labour cost is a fraction of the normal rate because unskilled labour can be used to do the work of otherwise expensive artisans. For standard openings (windows/doors) STUMBELBLOC may be used in place of lintels - saving time, money and procurement/delivery costs. Finally, the use of STUMBELBLOC eliminates almost all building waste. Any surplus standard mortar can be used to make more blocks.
